My name is Emilie, and my husbands name is Wayne, and our daughter is Zarah, she is nearly 2 years old now!!! If you are wondering how we got the cattery name zarwaynem, its was from the combination of zarah, wayne and Emilie.
I bet your wondering how we got into exotics and persians? I first purchased my white boy , Ronald ( Grand Champion Kazjohn Litonya) off a lovley couple in NSW. We decided to purchase an exotic as we loved the look of the persian, but did not want the hassle of grooming. As soon as we got Ronald home as a 10-11 week old kitten, we just FELL IN LOVE with him.
Then came the day I anoyed my husband so much for another exotic that he said "OKAY" So again, I contacted my breeder up in NSW who I got Ronald off, and put my name down for a kitten. Initially, I wanted a blue exotic, I just love the blues. But there ended up being a beautiful black girl available, so we decided to get her. Then my friend emailed me the day I was going to the airport t pick up my black kitten ( Reagan), and told me she had a blue persian available. As soon as I saw the photos of her, I nearly died. She was just to DIE FOR!!!! So, to my shock, my husband said... get her too!!! I was sooooooooooooo happy.
So , to cut it short thats the start of zarwaynem cattery, its hard work, but I love it, and I love my babies.
So in 2007 I started to show my babies. First my two kittens Reagan and Tyra ( blue persian) and they did okay. Regan got 3rd best Kitten under one judge in her first show!!! Not long after Tyra got Best kitten under one judge, I was SO PROUD! I ended up taking Ronald this first show up in Bendigo, and he ended up winning Supreme in that show, so I had enough cat food to last me for ages!! So, my white boy is now a Grand Champion, Regan is Champion, and the others are HOPEFULLY on their way. It dosnt hurt trying anyway!!! and its a bit of fun along the way. I have done well at the shows showing my own breeding, and others that have bought off me have done well too. To view results click on the show results link.
Anyway, I hope this gave you some insight how we got into our cats!! We are looking forward to breeding, and showing in the future, and providing beautiful kittens that provide such joy and happyness for other people like they have to us. So thank you to the people that gave us the opportunity to have such joy in our lives and trusted us with their babies :). I also want to thank Lesley, Carol & John, Vicki, Fay and Simone for their great advice, support and lovley emails. Friendships like that make it all worth while :)
